Regional U.S.-based cargo carrier National Airlines said it has chosen the “vMail” platform, by Canadian logistics IT firm Descartes Systems Group, to track its mail transportation activities worldwide.

Ryan Dereska, National’s business development manager for government and defense, said that vMail can provide customers “real-time access to shipment and delivery status, the ability to view consignments and manage account reconciliation.”

The automated, cloud-based vMail system handle all stages of the mail’s journey, from route generation to account reconciliation, Descartes said. With the vMail mobile app, mail handlers can record mail transportation events as they occur, providing real-time visibility on Descartes’ Global Logistics Network platform.

vMail is also equipped to help carrier meet Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) program requirements that into effect on June.
