Brisbane-based carrier Pacific Air Express received an Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) from Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority, issued 21 December, for scheduled and charter freighter operations. The all-cargo carrier operates a fleet of two 757-200 Precision-converted freighters.

The carrier applied with Australia’s International Air Services Commission (IASC) to operate scheduled 757F service between Brisbane (BNE) and Guangzhou (CAN) airports back in 2017, with services on the route originally expected to commence in November 2017. However, the carrier acquired both its 757Fs (22211 and 22611, both ex-DHL International Aviation Middle East) earlier this year and, therefore, requested that the IASC push back its deadline to utilize the capacity allocated on the route. Since then, the IASC has removed the condition calling for full utilization of the capacity.

Pacific Air Express has not returned requests for comment, but Managing Director Gary Clifford reportedly told ch-aviation that the carrier’s gateway port in China, CAN, will connect with BNE, Sydney Airport (SYD), Cairns Airport (CNS), and Darwin International Airport (DRW) in Australia.
