People: Appointments in air cargo

The air cargo industry saw several key appointments in March. Krishnasamy named CIO at FedEx [caption id="attachment_57142582" align="alignright" width="225"] Sriram Krishnasamy[/caption] Sriram Krishnasamy will step into the role of executive vice president and chief information officer for FedEx in July. Krishnasamy will replace Robert B. Carter , who will step down at the end of June but remain with FedEx as a senior adviser through the end of the year. Krishnasamy is executive vice president and chief transformation officer, roles he will retain, as well as president and chief executive of FedEx Dataworks , according to a March 11 release from FedEx. In his new role, he will lead FedEx’s IT and Dataworks teams. Krishnasamy has been with FedEx since 1997. “Under the leadership of Sriram, FedEx launched Dataworks, which focuses on harnessing the power of our data, while leading our DRIVE effort, the most significant transformation in our company’s history,” FedEx President and Chief Executive Raj Subramaniam said in the release. “His leadership will be critical as we continue to leverage our extensive operational expertise to become a data-driven, digital-first company that provides transportation and digital solutions for everyone, from everywhere.” Keyrouse is new CEO of Rotate [caption id="attachment_57142580" align="alignright" width="195"] Ryan Keyrouse[/caption] Air cargo software company Rotate appointed co-founder Ryan Keyrouse as CEO, effective March 1. Co-founder and outgoing CEO Gert-Jan Jansen will remain on the board as executive director and senior adviser for client engagement, according to a March 11 release from the company, which was founded in 2022. Keyrouse has more than two decades of industry expertise, having undertaken more than 50 air cargo strategy consulting projects across 30 countries, according to the release. He has held roles at Boeing , KPMG and Seabury Cargo . “Over the last two years, Rotate has established a robust foundation,” Keyrouse said in the release. “Our focus now is on execution and ongoing innovation in collaboration with our partners, both those in industry and the other members of cargo tech.” AIT promotes three to executive roles [caption id="attachment_57142571" align="alignright" width="187"] Bill Fallon[/caption] [caption id="attachment_57142570" align="alignright" width="186"] Ben Naro[/caption] Global supply chain solutions company AIT Worldwide Logistics named Ben Naro chief sales officer, Bill Fallon chief commercial officer and Mike Tegtmeyer executive vice president of global infrastructure and security. As chief sales officer, Naro is responsible for managing the global territory and field sales team. Naro has been with AIT for more than two decades, according to a March 19 release from the company. He was promoted from executive vice president of sales. [caption id="attachment_57142576" align="alignright" width="197"] Mike Tegtmeyer[/caption] In his new role, Fallon sets the strategy and manages the setup for the vertical markets in AIT’s strategic account program. He has been in the transportation industry for more than 40 years, spending 10 of those years at AIT, most recently as executive vice president of client solutions. Tegtmeyer will continue leading the management of AIT’s technology infrastructure and hardware platforms, with an emphasis on networks in Asia and Europe. He will also focus on process improvements such as expanding the digital ticketing system AITConnect. He has been with AIT for five years and was most recently vice president of global infrastructure and security. Menzies appointments aim to strengthen Portugal ops [caption id="attachment_57142575" align="alignright" width="200"] Michael Stratman[/caption] [caption id="attachment_57142579" align="alignright" width="191"] Rui Gomes[/caption] Ground handler Menzies Aviation has appointed Rui Gomes as vice president Portugal and Michael Stratman as chief operating officer Portugal, as Menzies prepares to take over operations at five Portuguese airports after acquiring a majority stake in Groundforce Portugal in April 2023. Gomes joins Menzies from Samsic Portugal , where he was COO, overseeing a workforce of more than 9,000, according to a March 7 release from Menzies. Prior to Samsic, Gomes worked at ISS for 17 years in roles including regional finance manager LATAM, chief financial officer Chile and country manager Portugal. Stratman has served Menzies as vice president Italy, vice president operations South Africa and Namibia, and general manager operations Spain and France, according to the release. Before Menzies, he was operations manager for EasyJet Handling in Spain. “We have the right team to support and build our presence in southern Europe,” Miguel Gomez Sjunnesson , executive vice president Europe at Menzies, said in the release. “It is the next step toward the recovery of Groundforce, reinforcing our commitment to deliver industry-leading services to airline and airport customers across the region.” BoxC hires Steinke as VP of product, partnerships [caption id="attachment_57142583" align="alignright" width="165"] Tawnee Steinke[/caption] E-commerce logistics management solutions provider BoxC named Tawnee Steinke vice president of product and partnerships, effective March 4. As head of strategic global partnerships at software firm Zonos , Steinke scaled operations and partner networks across more than 30 countries, according to a March 14 release from BoxC. “We see immense potential in untapped markets such as the airline industry, freight forwarding industry and national postal industries to harness the power of e-commerce," Steinke said in the release. “Our plans include creating strategic partnerships within these segments to empower businesses within and outside the BoxC ecosystem.” Trans Global adds to its Bremen team [caption id="attachment_57142572" align="alignright" width="300"] From left are Trans Global Projects Sales Manager Knuth Meinardus, Project Manager Morten Guba and Project Manager Nicholas Schubert. (Courtesy/Trans Global Projects)[/caption] Trans Global Projects has made three appointments to its team based in Bremen, Germany: Morten Guba and Nicholas Schubert as project managers and Knuth Meinardus as sales manager. Guba and Schubert have 23 years and 21 years of experience, respectively, while Meinardus has worked in shipping and logistics since 1982, according to a March 26 release from Trans Global Projects. “We made a strategic decision to grow both our Bremen operational and sales teams as a result of the continuous growth we have seen over the last couple of years,” Andreas Menzel , Trans Global’s managing director for Germany, said in the release.
