Raindo United Services to launch with 737-800Fs this year

Indonesia-based startup Raindo United Services has selected the 737-800 freighter platform and is looking to receive its first aircraft this summer. Raindo, which attained its airline license in late 2022, has been in the planning process since early 2022 and expects to obtain its Indonesia air operator certificate by June, the company told Cargo Facts . (Photo/Raindo United Services)[/caption] Raindo also said that it anticipates taking delivery of two 737-800Fs this year: the first in June and the second in August. The carrier confirmed to Cargo Facts that the freighters will be Boeing conversions and that it has partnered with “one of the leading aircraft lessors.” Cargo Facts believes Raindo will lease the 737-800BCFs from AerCap, which has worked with other carriers in the Asia-Pacific region including My Indo Airlines , Tianjin Air Cargo and JD Airlines . After receiving its first freighter, Raindo plans to operate scheduled domestic and international services, it said. The 737-800BCF’s volume and range fulfills Raindo’s needs and will help it support micro, small and medium enterprises in Indonesia, the startup told Cargo Facts , adding that it intends to offer a one-stop air cargo solution with end-to-end, real-time tracking. The first two aircraft will be the focus for the rest of 2023 but Raindo is open to bringing on additional freighters to support the cargo market in Indonesia and Asia, the carrier said. Indonesia is home to just two 737-800 freighters: one -800BCF with My Indo Airlines and one -800SF with Rimbun Air , with Asia Cargo Airlines telling Cargo Facts in November 2022 that it expected to add two 737-800BCFs this year .
