Raya Airways ends year with four 767s

Malaysia-based Raya Airways will end the year by taking on its fourth 767-200BDSF freighter. Raya will lease the 1983-vintage unit 22787 (ex-DHL International) from Cargo Aircraft Management (CAM), bringing the carrier’s total to four 767-200BDSFs leased from the lessor, Raya confirmed to Cargo Facts [FATs 008345-8346] . (Photo/Raya Airways)[/caption] The aircraft was ferried on Dec. 18 from Wilmington (ILN) to Honolulu (HNL) and will shortly continue to Guam (GUM). Unit 22787 was previously flown by DHL International in Bahrain and was withdrawn from service with the express integrator in June 2021 and ferried to Warsaw (WAW) prior to being returned to CAM. In addition to unit 22787, Raya also told Cargo Facts it expects to receive its first of four A320 family freighters , an IAE-powered A321-200P2F (1293, ex-Sky Angkor Airlines), on lease from ST Engineering in Q1 2023 after being converted at the ST Engineering facility in Singapore (XSP). Raya was initially announced as the launch operator for CAM’s first A321PCF with 321 Precision Conversions, but CAM previously told Cargo Facts it had shifted the carrier’s conversion slots to accommodate the operator’s engine requirements. Apart from Raya, which added its third 767 in 2021 , CAM has in recent years leased 767-200BDSFs to carriers like Astral Aviation and Mas , while Xtreme Holdings this year purchased a 1987-vintage 767-200BDSF (23434) in August.
