SAS Cargo Group, the cargo arm of Scandinavian Airlines is expanding its digital service offering for its customers. Yesterday, the carrier announced its plans to supplement its existing online ebooking platform with the launch direct ebooking services using WebCargo by Freightos where SAS Cargo customers will be able to pull real-time pricing, access capacity and instantly book online.

According to the press release, 80% of SAS Cargo’s customers already book capacity through the carrier’s existing online booking platform. Commenting on the launch of direct booking through WebCargo, Martin Dellepiane Larsen, Head of Network & Revenue Management at SAS Cargo said the platform perfectly builds upon the carrier’s established digital products and services, including instant booking confirmation, dynamic pricing and a fully automated and digitized document manager.

Therefore, joining the ranks of carriers already integrated with Freightos is intended to expand the visibility of SAS Cargo’s services worldwide with the opportunity to gain new clients.

Freightos launched its real-time airfreight pricing product earlier this year in June. Moving forward, the company told Air Cargo World that it aims to expand the number of airlines and lanes available on its platform while continuing to improve the platform, which includes leveraging its data to provide market insights to forwarders and airlines. Details regarding further development of platform are forthcoming.

In addition to SAS Cargo Group, Sinotrans Global E-commerce Logistics, IAG Cargo and United Cargo have incorporated WebCargo by Freightos into their operations this year.
