Although the latest September airfreight traffic reports hinted at a coming slowdown for Lufthansa Cargo, the third-quarter numbers from the Lufthansa Group reported strong revenue growth from its Logistics business segment.
Logistics was up 11 percent, year-over-year, in Q3 for 2018, reaching €594 million. Earnings before interests and taxes (EBIT) for the unit was €25 million, representing a 19 percent rise from €21 million for the same three-month period in 2017. The higher revenues, the German carrier said, were in response to a more favorable pricing environment, which boosted cargo yields.
