Sanjiv Gupta, CEO of SpiceXpress, the cargo arm of India-based low-cost carrier SpiceJet, has joined the Cargo Facts Asia 2021 speaker faculty.

Gupta will speak on a virtual roundtable panel that will address developments in the Asia-based freighter fleet. SpiceXpress, which in 2018 took its first full freighter, has quickly managed to grow its fleet to five freighter-converted 737NGs.
The session will be broadcast live on Tuesday, April 21, at 9:00 – 9:45 am (GMT+8), during this year’s virtual presentation of Cargo Facts Asia.
Throughout the pandemic, SpiceXpress has also operated thousands of cargo-only flights using its narrowbody aircraft. The passenger-freighter fleet currently also includes A340-300s operated by Hi Fly and a 767-300ER operated by EuroAtlantic Airways.
SpiceJet posted $43 million (3.1 billion Rs) in revenue for its freighter and logistics services unit in the third quarter of its fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2020, up nearly six-fold compared to a year ago, according to preliminary results released by the company.
Gupta joined the organisation in April 2019, and has since spearheaded a number of notable developments during the pandemic, including cargo-on-seat and reconfiguration of the carrier’s Q400 turboprops to cargo configuration.
Cargo Facts Asia will take place April 20-21 as a virtual experience. To learn more, and register, visit www.cargofactsasia.com.
