Thai Cargo signs new contract with WFS

Paris-based Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has expanded its relationship with Thai Cargo by signing a five-year agreement in which WFS will handle Thai’s twice-daily A380 and 777 flights from London Heathrow (LHR) to Bangkok (BKK), as well as regional cargo handling across its United Kingdom and Ireland stations, and trucking network connecting its airport locations.

Thai Cargo plans to relocate to WFS’ Building 550 in LHR’s cargo center to gain access to a dedicated export facility with direct airside access, in close proximity to the U.K. Border Inspection Post (BIP).

In March, the ground handler became the full owner of its former joint-venture WFS Ireland, after buying out the minority stakes of its partners, Gerry Jackson and Brendan Byrne.

WFS serves more than 50 airlines in Ireland alone, including Air China, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, IAG Cargo, Lufthansa, SAS and SWISS International. Since the start of 2018, it has landed contracts Air Arabia (Maroc) and Norwegian, and renewed its relationship with Emirates.

We will be discussing similar topics at Cargo Facts Symposium on 10-12 October. For more information, or to register, visit www.cargofactssymposium.com.
