Virgin Cargo reaches 49 weekly connections with new Manchester – JFK service

With the launch late May of a daily flights between Manchester and New York JFK, Virgin Atlantic Cargo now operates seven flights a day, seven times a week between New York and the U.K.

In March and April, the airline saw its London Heathrow to New York revenues increase by 20 percent and 21 percent respectively. U.S. to UK tonnage rose three percent in March, with John Lloyd, managing director of Virgin Atlantic Cargo, noting that, “most of our U.S. routes from the UK performed above our expectations in the first four months of this year.”

The launch of New York – Manchester service follows the introduction of three weekly flights connecting the UK’s second largest city and San Francisco as well as twice-weekly Manchester-Boston services at the end of March.

Virgin Cargo’s Lloyd noted that in addition to strong demand to New York, the carrier was “seeing positive customer support for our new San Francisco and Boston flights from and to Manchester and we are confident this will continue with the addition of New York.”
