World Cargo Airlines hits a 737-800F triple

Malaysia-based World Cargo Airlines will soon begin operating its third 737-800BCF. Asia Cargo Network (ACN), parent company of World Cargo Airlines, is leasing the freshly converted 737-800BCF (33553, ex-Ryanair), which arrived in Subang (SZB) on Jan. 19, from BBAM, the group told Cargo Facts [ FATs 008434-8437 ]. (Photo/Asia Cargo Network)[/caption] The 2005-vintage 737-800 departed Lasham (QLA) in December 2021 and was ferried to the Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd. (STAECO) facility in Jinan (TNA) ahead of its conversion. ACN, which said in May that it expects to add up to five more 737-800Fs in two years and in November said it would place two 737-800BCFs into service with Asia Cargo Airlines by around Q1 2023, told Cargo Facts that these two aircraft are now due around May and August. World Cargo Airlines added its second 737-800BCF (36804, ex-Garuda Indonesia) in May 2022, after taking its first 737-800 freighter in January 2021. Both are also on lease from BBAM. Meanwhile, fellow Malaysian carrier Kargo Xpress recently also leased its third 737-800BCF . The ACN group announced at the Bahrain International Airshow that it had formed a partnership with Bahrain-based MENA Aerospace and will add three 737-800Fs and two 767-300Fs to the MENA Cargo certificate this year. In addition to its surging 737-800F fleet, ACN continues to invest in 737 Classic freighters, after adding a 1997-vintage 737-300F (28200, ex-Texel Air) in March to its newest subsidiary , RGA-Black Stone Airlines. Excluding MENA Cargo’s sole 737-300F, ACN now has three 737-800Fs, one -400F and eight -300Fs.
