The Robert V. “Bob” Dahl Memorial Scholarship Fund today formally began operations, kicking off its effort to grant awards to promising young industry professionals.
Members of the air cargo industry are invited to submit nominations for 2026 Dahl Scholars. Eligible candidates must:
- Be at least eighteen years old when the application is submitted;
- Be an enrolled student, be at least five years into a full‑time career or be a service member or veteran transitioning within three years to a civilian aviation career;
- Demonstrate an interest in air cargo or freighters through their courses, projects, internships, research, flight hours or other relevant factors.
Dahl Scholars will attend Cargo Facts Symposium on Oct. 21-23 in Nashville on a complimentary basis. They also will receive mentorship and networking to support an interest in the air cargo and freighter aircraft industry.
“After nearly three decades of contributions to Cargo Facts and the freighter community — and more than twenty years before that at Boeing — Bob left us a legacy rooted in curiosity, humility and mentorship,” said JJ Hornblass, chief executive of Cargo Facts.
“The scholarship fund that bears his name continues that spirit by opening doors for the next generation.”
