Digital Pulse: Hermes Logistics unveils learning management system

Hermes Logistics Technologies unveiled a learning management system — a digital, self-service, educational tool designed to facilitate learning about air cargo processes and HLT’s cargo management system — Wednesday at the Air Cargo Handling & Logistics conference in Athens, Greece. (Photo/HLT)[/caption] The learning management system (LMS) platform contains courses, FAQs, instructional videos and how-to guides available to HLT customers and employees, according to a release from the company. “The LMS will lead to more knowledgeable staff, faster and improved onboarding, and more efficient software implementations, which makes it so valuable,” HLT Chief Executive Yuval Baruch said in the release. “To utilize the vast advantages and innovations offered by digitalization, we must work towards a greater standard of digital proficiency than currently exists.” The LMS also offers a customizable catalog of courses covering all areas of the business, from how to accept an air waybill to an introduction to dangerous goods and unit load device set-up to in-depth, product-specific content, according to the release. Flexport launches all-in-one platform Flexport launched an end-to-end global trade solution with instant access to financing, freight, fulfillment and replenishment to major marketplaces and retail stores. The solution provides one-click access to more than 20 supply chain services on a single page, the company said in a release. The company also launched Flexport+, a membership program that offers supply chain financing, priority shipping services and access to supply chain experts, according to the Sept. 12 release. Powered by AI , the solution offers replenishment injection directly into Fulfillment by Amazon , Walmart Fulfillment Services and more than 15 wholesale channels, including Costco , Target and Nordstrom . Customers also have access to last-mile delivery through Shopify , which Flexport acquired in May. “Whether you’re an entrepreneur shipping for the first time or a fast-growing business looking to scale, figuring out how to ship and deliver your goods takes a ton of resources, know-how and time,” Parisa Sadrzadeh , executive vice president of SMB product and technology at Flexport, said in the release. “Entrepreneurs want to focus on growing their business, not logistics, but logistics providers take too much effort from entrepreneurs because their solutions are segmented, complicated and often just focused on their largest customers. We just don’t accept that.” Redkik joins forces with Air Cargo Latin America Oxford, Md.-based software company Redkik has integrated its solution into the Air Cargo Latin America platform. Redkik’s platform offers logistics customers access to insurance policies and companies. Under the agreement, “in less than two minutes and on a transactional basis, anyone needing coverage in the supply chain can now quote and acquire international insurance to cover their international shipments, either by air, road or sea, at a very competitive rate,” a release from Redkik announced this month. This new service offered through media platform Air Cargo Latin America is available to freight forwarders, importers, exporters, customs brokers and carriers, according to the company. “Latin America is a growing area of business for Redkik and partnering with Air Cargo Latin America allows us to make our technology available to a large audience,” Redkik founder and Chief Executive Chris Kalinski said in the release. “We are very excited to assist Air Cargo Latin America to offer an additional service to its users and are looking forward to a long-term collaboration.”
