Swiss WorldCargo , the air cargo division of carrier Swiss , has added its capacity for markets in Europe, Asia and the Americas to digital booking platform cargo.one . Swiss ranked 43rd on Air Cargo Next ’s Freight 50 list of top cargo carriers, flying 1.3 billion cargo tonne kilometers in 2022. Swiss WorldCargo ’s modular product portfolio bookable on cargo.one includes: Swiss General Cargo; Swiss Pharma & Healthcare; Celsius Passive, a temperature-sensitive cargo solution; and X-Presso, a time-critical cargo solution. The carrier aims to integrate all its markets into the platform by yearend, according to the release. CargoAi optimizes digital booking for SriLankan Cargo SriLankan Cargo , the cargo arm of SriLankan Airlines , is working with digital cargo solutions company CargoAi to simplify and enhance its air cargo booking and payment processes, making the process quicker and more transparent for users. Through CargoAi’s ecosystem, SriLankan offers online booking and cross-border payment capabilities, according to a May 16 release from SriLankan. CargoAi’s CargoWALLET platform offers secure payment methods and automates tasks that were previously done manually, according to the release. “We will be able to enhance the visibility of our inventory and offer customers a convenient airfreight booking experience,” Chaminda Perera , head of cargo at SriLankan Airlines, said in the release. “We are looking forward to extending our market reach and engaging with businesses of all scales with CargoAi.” Oman Air Cargo to implement RTS solutions Oman Air Cargo will implement digital solutions from Revenue Technology Services (RTS) to automate revenue and pricing processes, according to a release this month from Oman Air. (Courtesy/Oman Air)[/caption] The move is expected to increase efficiency, lead to more informed pricing decisions, optimize bellyspace and improve customer experiences, the release stated. “As air cargo continues to play an increasingly important role in airline revenue, it’s essential for us to leverage cutting-edge technologies to optimize operations, drive profitability and secure our long-term sustainability,” Oman Air Chief Transformation Officer Ahmed Al Amry said in the release. The solutions use AI and machine learning , according to a release from RTS. The suite includes these RTS solutions: Revenue planning and sales budgeting tool Foresight, which allows carriers to assess cargo value, establish revenue and sales targets, and monitor progress; Pricing tool AcceleRate, which helps carriers negotiate optimal contract, spot and tariff rates; and Revenue management tool Velocity, which forecasts short-term and long-term capacity and demand. Freight forwarding groups integrate Pledge calculator Australia’s Freight and Trade Alliance and the Canadian International Freight Forwarder Association have integrated Pledge ’ s freight emissions calculator into their websites, according to a May 22 release from Pledge. “Pledge is committed to providing emissions measurement and reporting solutions to freight forwarders across the globe,” Pledge co-founder and Chief Executive David de Picciotto said in the release. “As we start working with associations outside of the U.K. and Europe, we’ll be better positioned to offer forwarders access to the tools and knowledge they need to decarbonize their customers’ supply chains.” The calculator allows users to measure freight emissions multimodally by entering cargo details, origin and destination, according to the release. Users can refine results by entering additional shipment data.
