Dimerco opens Seattle office for trans-Pac business

Taiwan-based logistics company Dimerco is bolstering its trans-Pacific foothold with the addition of Seattle to its North American service network. Last week, the company opened its Seattle office, which will focus on air exports, such as aerospace, medical and health-related cargo, electrical equipment and perishable exports, such as fruit and seafood.

Dimerco Express’ general manager of the U.S. west district, Kenneth Leung, said the city’s status as a Free Trade Zone (FTZ) grants its customers some notable benefits, including “improved inventory management with no storage limits and fewer regulatory requirements for re-export, as well as capped merchandise processing fees.”

The company has recently experienced increased demand for services from North America; its revenue from it’s the region increased by about 20% in the first quarter of 2019, year-over-year to US$35 million.

Dimerco’s airfreight service includes scheduled consolidation services, direct air carrier access, and airport-to-airport and door-to-door delivery. It utilizes capacity on airlines, including Air China, Cathay Pacific and EVA Air.

The addition of Seattle tallies the company’s North American network to 21 offices, including Los Angeles, New York and Miami.
