Drone Delivery Canada (DDC), the cargo drone delivery operator marketed by Air Canada Cargo, announced a new agreement with DSV Canada to use DDC’s drone delivery platform at DSV’s new head office and warehouse in Milton, Ontario.

Under the deal with DSV, DDC will deploy its DroneSpot takeoff and landing infrastructure on DSV sites, to be utilized with the company’s 10-pound-capacity Sparrow cargo drone. DDC will launch multiple routes for DSV, with the first to be a defined route within DSV’s Milton warehouse site.

DDC will install its drone infrastructure during 2019 before launching drone delivery services during the first quarter of 2020. The company may add 20 or more additional routes next year.

According to DDC’s statement, DSV will pay a monthly fee for each route deployed. The initial contract is for 15 months, with additional one-year terms to follow successively unless the contract is terminated.

This is the second agreement DDC has inked for drone operations, indicating the carrier is off to a promising start in its commercial operations. In September, DDC announced a one-year deal with manufacturing company Vision Profile for drone operations in Ontario, our sister site Cargo Facts reported.
