Kawal Preet, President, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) at FedEx Express, will speak at Cargo Facts Asia 2021 on a session that will explore how cool chain logistics have been reshaped by COVID-19 in today’s dynamic market.
The session will be broadcast live on Wednesday, April 21, at 9:00 – 9:45 am (GMT+8), during this year’s virtual presentation of Cargo Facts Asia 2021.
Preet and her fellow panelists will discuss the commodities competing for tight capacity, and the technology currently available to deliver unspoiled perishables and pharma products.
Throughout the pandemic, FedEx Express has continuously tweaked flight operations to and from its APAC hub in Guangzhou and North Pacific Hub in Osaka, and South Pacific Hub in Singapore. “As the world’s largest express transportation company with our own air cargo fleet and hundreds of aircraft globally, we never stopped operating. We are able to mitigate the uncertainty of passenger flights and create capacity wherever and whenever needed,” Preet told Cargo Facts in the second half of 2020.
Preet started with FedEx Express as an associate engineer in 1997, and was appointed to her current role as President, AMEA, on June 1, 2020. She leads the overall planning and implementation of corporate strategies and operations across more than 100 markets and territories that make up the AMEA region which accounts for nearly half of the destinations FedEx Express serves.
“The role of the AMEA region will only grow as it represents a high growth region powered by rapidly emerging economies. Business models and working practices will take on new forms as companies including FedEx revisit how we serve our customers and how we adapt to the customer’s shifting needs,” Preet said.
