Flexport is CHAMP Cargosystems’ cargoJSON API launch customer

Flexport has adopted CHAMP Cargosystems’ Traxon cargoHUB platform, which transmits, converts and distributes air freight messaging, for electronic data interchange, and has also started using CHAMP’s premium tracking service. The integration of the platforms means that Flexport is the first customer to use CHAMP’s new cargoJSON data-interchange format, a language-independent data format that is fully interoperable with existing IATA cargoIMP and IATA cargoXML formats.

Those are a lot of acronyms, but Flexport’s adoption of CHAMP’s software expands the latter’s community reach in the rapidly-evolving airfreight software field. The deal also means that Flexport will now be using CHAMP’s new application programming interface (API) when its computers talk to each other.

Phoebe Rockwood, airfreight product manager at Flexport, said that CHAMP’s “modern” API made it easy for Flexport’s team to integrate CHAMP’s information into their product. She also said that CHAMP made this possible “with its large community reach, comprehensive solution and related services, and state-of the-art communication technology.”
