C Cubed Aerospace Chief Executive Michael McConnell will join a panel on freighter conversions on Oct. 27 at Cargo Facts Symposium 2023.

The 29th Cargo Facts Symposium will take place Oct. 25-27 at the Omni Hotel in San Diego, where industry leaders will gather to share insights and analyses on developing market trends while providing an outlook on the air cargo industry in the Americas and around the world.

McConnell has owned two STC businesses that supported the executive and general aviation sector and served as president of Raisbeck Engineering. He assumed various leadership roles during his eight years at Eclipse Aviation.

C Cubed is working toward certification of its A320-200CCF program and previously told Cargo Facts that it plans to conduct the first test flight of its prototype this year. The company inducted its first aircraft in Kansas City, Mo. (MCI), in 2019, and expects to become the second STC holder for an A320 freighter conversion program.

“The Airbus A320/A321 passenger-to-freighter conversion market could be a significant part of the total number of conversions over the next few years,” McConnell said.

McConnell joins the panel “Conversion market overview and analysis” on Friday, Oct. 27, at 9 a.m. PDT (GMT -5). The discussion will highlight pending, existing and soon-to-be-discontinued conversions in the industry.

Additional panelists for the session are Bob Weiss, director of Boeing 737 and 767 converted freighters; Eric Kivett, program manager for the KMC 777-300ERCF program at Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research; Zach Young, director of sales and marketing at 321 Precision Conversions; and Mark Neely, vice president of freighters at Embraer Commercial Aviation.
