United Kingdom-based logistics operator GBA Services is expanding its operations to Portugal, opening a GBA Logistics Portugal office in Lisbon to provide express van and truck services across the Iberian Peninsula and other parts of Europe.

The new Lisbon office follows another recent expansion for GBA Services, as the company opened a German branch in early September. GBA operations are already established in the U.K., Austria and Poland. The new Lisbon branch will focus on customers in Portugal, Spain and France and will use vehicles owned by GBA, as well as its service partners.

Once its operations are fully established in Portugal, GBA plans to add services for high-security and pharmaceutical transport, which it offers already in the U.K.

“Portugal is an important market, with a particular focus on the automotive sector,” which is one of GBA’s core specialties, said company founder and managing director David Birbeck.

The office will be headed by Luis Monraia (pictured at left), whose experience includes managing hazardous goods transportation and express operations in Europe.
