U.S.-based JAS Forwarding joined the ranks of forwarders utilizing Berlin-based cargo.one’s freight booking platform, which allows users to view and book airlines’ available freight capacity instantaneously via a digital app.

Gordon Reinke, airfreight director  of JAS Forwarding’sa German operations, said that JAS engaged in a collaborative process with cargo.one, in which it tested use of the platform extensively before deciding to move forward.

“The joint product development convinced us that the cargo.one software would help us optimize our processes,” Reinke said. “Booking processes are significantly accelerated and the current spot rates allow us to always offer our customers the best options.”

The software-as-a-service (SaaS) company has fostered relationships with major industry leaders since its inception in 2017, including Agility, Hellmann, Dachser, and Lufthansa Cargo.

Last month, Lufthansa Cargo – which has become known for its commitment to the digitalization of the air cargo industry – purchased a minority shareholding in cargo.one. Peter Gerber, CEO of Lufthansa Group, commented that the carrier is impressed with the software, and that it has “strongly improved” its customers’ experience booking capacity.
