Kuehne + Nagel break ground on Swiss pharma handling facility

With chemicals and pharmaceuticals currently driving the Swiss export economy, following an export slump in 2015, Kuehne + Nagel has responded by breaking ground last week on a 16,300-square-meter “Pharma Hub Switzerland.” The Swiss logistics company said the new capacity will strengthen its position in the country’s pharma and healthcare industry.

Pharma Hub will be part of K+N’s PharmaChain network, which transports pharma shipments with temperature-controlled, door-to-door shipping on a global scale.

Upon completion, the new K+N logistics facility in Möhlin will manage approximately 46,000 pallet spaces, operating in three distinct temperature zones: -20°C; -2 to +8°C; and +15 to +25°C. The Möhlin facility will also accommodate hazardous goods and narcotics, in dedicated areas.
