The Rhenus Group opened a new branch office and warehouse in the Lazio region of Italy near Rome on Oct. 12, expanding its coverage in the area surrounding the Italian capital.

The new warehouse, located in a Riano logistics park, includes 20 gates and hydraulic ramps, 19 van distribution gates, storage capacity of 12,500 pallet spaces, about 7,600 picking positions and a rechargeable forklift truck area.

Rhenus Logistics Italy occupies 22,000 square meters of space, and has the option to expand its warehouse space up to 45,000 square meters. The Italian logistics division of the Rhenus Group can also add another 100,000 square meters soon for services including a fuel station and truck parking, among others.

Elsewhere in Europe, Rhenus just opened a new United Kingdom headquarters and warehouse at Peel’s Port Salford complex in Manchester, and broke ground on a new assembly and storage hall in Meerane, Germany.
