FedEx launches IND-DUB route with 767-300F

FedEx has launched a route between Dublin and Indianapolis that operates four days a week. The direct air cargo lane allows goods from Dublin (DUB) to bypass congested coastal gateways and arrive at Indianapolis (IND) — FedEx’s second-largest hub — one day faster, according to a Sept. 30 release from FedEx. (Courtesy/FedEx)[/caption] A 2015-vintage 767-300F (42716) made the inaugural flight from DUB on Sept. 29, returning the following day. “By adding this route, U.S.-based customers can reduce delivery times to one of Europe’s key innovation hubs, where industries like health care, electronics and aerospace are experiencing significant growth,” Richard Smith, FedEx international chief operating officer and chief executive for airline, said in the release. About 68% of Ireland’s exports in the first half of 2025 went to the United States, with pharmaceutical and medical equipment making up the lion’s share, FedEx said. SolitAir expands Africa network United Arab Emirates-based SolitAir has expanded operations in Africa, the carrier announced Sept. 24. SolitAir has added routes from Dubai (DWC) to: Benghazi (BEN) in Libya; Dar es Salaam (DAR) and Zanzibar (ZNZ) in Tanzania; Eldoret (EDL) and Nairobi (NBO) in Kenya; Harare (HRE) in Zimbabwe; Johannesburg (JNB) in South Africa; and Lusaka (LUN) in Zambia. African air cargo volumes are expected to double during the next twenty years, according to Boeing’s World Air Cargo Forecast, released in November 2024. The same report forecasts that, in the next twenty years, Africa’s domestic market will need additional capacity of about 100 aircraft to meet demand. SolitAir, which obtained its UAE AOC in March, plans a fleet of up to twelve freighters by yearend . In June, it signed a deal with World Star Aviation to lease two 2004-vintage 737-800BDSFs (34014 and 33997). Unit 34014 was delivered in September, and SolitAir expects delivery of unit 33997 this month, according to the release. The airline aims to grow its fleet to twenty aircraft by 2027, SolitAir said. NAC to launch SEA-ANC route Alaska-based Northern Air Cargo (NAC) will launch a direct cargo route between Seattle (SEA) and Anchorage (ANC) with its 2007-vintage 737-800SF (35119). The three-times-per-week service begins the week of Oct. 5, according to a Sept. 9 release. The service is ideal for perishables, medicine and urgent cargo, NAC said. The new service promises same-day rural delivery, enabling communities including Nome and Kotzebue to receive cargo in as little as twelve hours while more remote communities including Utqiagvik and Bethel can be serviced in around eighteen hours. LATAM expands BRU-EZE service LATAM Cargo will double capacity on its Brussels (BRU)-Buenos Aires (EZE) route this month by increasing from two weekly flights to four with a 767-300F. The carrier expects to transport between eighty tonnes and 100 tonnes of cargo weekly, according to a Sept. 17 release.
