NWCIA launches 757-200 freighter service between Guangzhou, Dhaka

North-Western Cargo International Airlines this month launched 757-200 freighter service from Guangzhou, China, to Dhaka, Bangladesh, expanding connectivity between southern China and South Asia. The Chinese carrier (NWCIA) inaugurated the freighter route on Dec. 11, flying a 2002-vintage 757-200PCF (32942) from Guangzhou (CAN) to Dhaka (DAC) and back. (Courtesy/Uzbekistan Airports)[/caption] Outbound cargo from CAN mainly comprises fabric, machinery parts and electronic products, according to a Dec. 11 release from the carrier. CAN’s inbound cargo primarily contains fresh produce. NWCIA operates four 757-200PCFs (32941, 32942, 34008 and 34009). The CAN-DAC route is NWCIA's first international scheduled route out of CAN and its third international route launched this year, according to the release. The other two international routes were: Service between Chengdu, China (CTU), and DAC, launched in January; and Service connecting Xining (XNN) in Haidong, China, to CTU to Bangkok (BKK). Hong Kong Air Cargo resumes SIN route Hong Kong Air Cargo will resume freighter operations to Singapore (SIN) from Hong Kong (HKG) on Jan. 4. Flight RH371 to SIN and Flight RH372 back to HKG last flew Dec. 31, 2024, according to flight tracker FlightRadar24. The two flights will operate Tuesday through Sunday, according to a Dec. 17 social media post from the airline. Hong Kong Air Cargo, part of the HNA Aviation Group, will also transition its Chennai, India (MAA), operations from charter to scheduled, effective Jan. 4. The carrier will fly from HKG to MAA and back three times a week. Hong Kong Air Cargo operates five production A330-200Fs (1051, 1062, 1115, 1175 and 1320). The five Trent 700-powered freighters range from 2010- to 2012-vintage. The carrier will expand its fleet for the first time since 2014 when it adds an A330-200P2F , expected in early 2026. The aircraft is nearing completion at the STARCO facility at Shanghai’s Hongqiao International Airport (SHA), the carrier told Cargo Facts. JAL, Kalitta increase codeshare flights on NRT-ORD route Japan Airlines (JAL) has increased the number of codeshare cargo flights operated with Kalitta Air between Narita (NRT) and Chicago (ORD) to five flights per week from three, effective Dec. 10. Kalitta Air began offering cargo space to JAL customers on its NRT-ORD route in May on its 747-400Fs and 777-300ERSFs as part of a codeshare agreement signed in March.
