May brought a strong resurgence in Freighter Aircraft Transactions (FATs) as the month’s numbers peaked at an impressive 137, a stark contrast to April’s total, which fell below fifty . Twin-engine widebodies dominated the transactions for the month , with 777Fs, 767Fs and A330 conversions topping the list. One major deal was Lufthansa’s order for seven 777-8Fs and two 777Fs from Boeing. Other highlights for the month include Saudia’s order for seven 777 conversions with Mammoth, and Avianca and ASL each leasing two A330P2Fs from CDB Aviation and Cargo Aircraft Management (CAM), respectively. In the regional segment, other notable transactions for May included Nordic Aviation Capital ordering ten E-jet freighter conversions from Embraer and Ameriflight leasing fifteen Saab 340B freighters. JetOneX transferred a 747-400F (27503, ex-Cathay Pacific) from Longtail Aviation to Air Atlanta Icelandic for CMI operation [FAT 007500]. Cargojet placed a conversion order for four 777-300ERSFs with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), with options for four more [FATs 007318-7321]. Backbone Freighter Leasing placed a conversion order for three 777-300ERCF conversions with Kansas Modification Center (KMC), with options for seven more [FATs 007484-7493]. Saudia placed a conversion order for seven 777 conversions with Mammoth Freighters, with options for five more [FATs 007541-7552]. Lufthansa ordered seven 777-8Fs and two 777F s from Boeing. The carrier will also acquire a used 777F [FATs 007521-7530]. EVA Air ordered a 777F from Boeing [FAT 007518]. China Cargo Airlines took delivery of a 777F (67464) from Boeing [FAT 007583]. Ethiopian Airlines ordered five 777Fs from Boeing [FATs 007591-7595]. DHL Express took delivery of a 777F (67139) from Boeing and ferried it to East Midlands (EMA) [FAT 007601]. Emirates took delivery of a 777F (67462) from Boeing [FAT 007617]. FedEx removed from service an MD-10-30F (46802) and ferried it to Victorville (VCV) for storage [FAT 007494]. CDB Aviation took redelivery of an A330-300P2F (958, ex-China Southern) after conversion with Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) in Dresden (DRS) [FAT 007481]. Avianca will lease at least two A330-300P2Fs from CDB Aviation [FATs 007604-7605]. ASL Aviation Holdings will lease two A330P2Fs from Cargo Aircraft Management (CAM) [FATs 007512-7513]. Air Canada purchased two 767-300Fs (67023 and 67024) from Boeing [FATs 007482-7483]. CAM inducted for conversion a 767-300ER (25269, ex-Delta Air Lines). The aircraft will be converted with IAI in Tel Aviv (TLV) [FAT 007560]. CAM also acquired two 767-300ERs (25583 and 25587, ex-Air Canada) [FATs 007581-7582]. CAM also took redelivery of a 767-300BDSF (32973, ex-ANA) after conversion with IAI at TLV [FAT 007584]. SF Airlines acquired a 767-300ER (30853, ex-Euro Atlantic Airways) [FAT 007597]. SF also took redelivery of a 767-300BCF (30840, ex-Condor) after conversion with Boeing in Singapore (QPG) [FAT 007603]. Titan Aircraft Investments inducted for conversion a 767-300ER (28883, ex-TUI Airways). The aircraft will be converted with Boeing in Singapore (SIN) [FAT 007612]. Kalitta Air returned a 767-300BDSF (28040, ex-TUIfly Nordic) and a 767-300BCF (27686, ex-Royal Air Maroc) it had been operating in CMI service for DHL Express [FATs 007615-7616]. LATAM took redelivery of a 767-300BCF (37802) after conversion with Boeing at SIN [FAT 007600]. BlackRock took redelivery of a 757-200PCF (28836, ex-TUI Airways) after conversion with Precision Aircraft Solutions in Xiamen (XMN) and leased it to Cargojet [FATs 007501-7502]. SF Airlines inducted for conversion a 757-200 (30887, ex-American Airlines). The aircraft will be converted with Precision Aircraft Solutions in Chengdu (CTU) [FAT 007559]. SF also took redelivery of a 757-200PCF (30548, ex-American Airlines) after conversion with Precision Aircraft Solutions in Chengdu (CTU) [FAT 007599]. YTO Cargo Airlines inducted for conversion a 757-200 (32399, ex-American Airlines). The aircraft will be converted with Precision Aircraft Solutions in Xiamen (XMN) [FAT 007602]. ASL Aviation Holdings will lease two A321-200PCFs (1972 and 1887, ex-Thomas Cook Airways) from CAM [FATs 007509-7511]. SmartLynx Airlines acquired four A321-200s (941, 961, 1185 and 1241, all ex-Finnair) that it intends to convert into freighters [FATs 007514-7517]. CAM inducted for conversion an A321-200 (1887, ex-Thomas Cook Airlines). The aircraft will be converted with 321 Precision Conversions in Sanford (SFB) [FAT 007596]. CAM also acquired an A321-200 (3274, ex-Hi Fly) [FAT 007586]. Titan Airways stopped operating an A321-200P2F (1250, ex-Thomas Cook Airlines) on an ACMI basis for Amerijet and began operating it on an ACMI basis for Virgin Atlantic [FATs 007585 and 007598]. BBAM took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (32904, ex-Jettime) after conversion with Boeing in Jinan (TNA) and placed it on lease to WestJet [FATs 007495-7496]. BBAM also took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (30420, ex-SunExpress) after conversion with Boeing at TNA and leased it to Central Airlines [FATs 007497-7498]. BBAM also took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (36804, ex-Garuda Indonesia) after conversion with Boeing at TNA and leased it to World Cargo Airlines [FATs 007588-7590]. BBAM also inducted for conversion a 737-800 (33805, ex-Ryanair). The aircraft will be converted with Boeing at TNA [FAT 007508]. Texel Air ordered two more 737-800BCF conversions with Boeing [FAT 007519-7520]. ASL Airlines took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (35022, ex-Ryanair) after conversion with Boeing at TNA [FAT 007561]. EgyptAir ordered a 737-800SF conversion with Aeronautical Engineers Inc. (AEI) [FAT 007577]. AirExplore will lease a 737-800BCF (33719, ex-Ryanair) from BBAM [FAT 007580]. ICBC Leasing took redelivery of a 737-800BCF (35212, ex-Air Madagascar) after conversion with Boeing at TNA and leased it to Ethiopian Airlines [FATs 007606-7608]. Vx Capital took delivery of a 737-400F (28490) off lease from ASL Airlines and will lease it to West Atlantic [FATs 007578-7579]. Nordic Aviation Capital placed a conversion order for ten E190/195Fs with Embraer [FATs 007531-7540]. Calm Air took redelivery of an ATR 72-500F (709, ex-TICV) after conversion in Coeur d’Alene (COE) [FAT 007503]. Falko Regional Aircraft took redelivery of an ATR 72-500F (855, ex-Air Austral) after conversion in Dinard (DNR) and leased it to Loganair [FATs 007504-7506 and 007614]. GIG Aviation will acquire and convert two ATR 72-500Fs (713 and 716, both ex-Binter Canarias) according to the Aeroconseil STC [FATs 007553-7556]. Wasaya Airways acquired two ATR 72-212Fs (423 and 432, ex-Hawaiian Airlines) [FATs 007557-7558]. Ameriflight will lease fifteen Saab 340B freighters from Jetstream Aviation Capital [FATs 007562-7576]. RAF-Avia took redelivery of a Saab 340BF (225) after conversion with Taby Air Maintenance in Oreboro (ORB) [FATs 007609-7611].
