Digital Pulse: Dnata integrates Speedcargo AI solutions at Changi

Dubai-based air and travel services provider dnata is offering AI-based Cargo Eye and Assemble solutions from Singapore-based logistics technology solutions provider Speedcargo to Etihad Cargo at Singapore Changi Airport. (Photo/dnata)[/caption] Cargo Eye uses vision-based 3D technology to scan and capture a cargo’s exact dimensions, volume data, images and labels, then create a digital record, according to dnata in a news release. Through AI , Assemble then uses the information to advise cargo handlers of the optimal method for building the pallet. This technology aims to ensure that dnata and Etihad Cargo maximize cargo capacity. “Working alongside Speedcargo, Cargo Eye and Assemble will enable us to provide Etihad Cargo and its customers with digital audit trails of how their cargo has been handled, improving efficiency and providing a quality end-to-end service,” Charles Galloway , dnata’s chief executive of airport operations in the Asia-Pacific region, said in the release. The solutions integrate “seamlessly” into the company’s existing warehouse management system, according to dnata. “Our AI-powered solutions will help Etihad Cargo to maximize capacity across their fleet, and enable dnata Singapore to digitize their cargo handling, thereby improving their productivity and efficiency in operations,” Speedcargo Chief Executive Krishna Kumar said in the release. The facilities at Changi (SIN) are dnata’s first to implement Cargo Eye and Assemble, but the company said it is working with Speedcargo to implement the solutions at other facilities across its global network. (Photo/Emirates SkyCargo)[/caption] Dubai-based carrier Emirates SkyCargo has launched CargoMART, a marketplace solution from Singapore-based technology provider CargoAi , to enhance customer experience and streamline booking by offering real-time information. The partnership — launched in the Netherlands, Spain and France — will open to customers in select countries worldwide in the coming months, according to a release from Emirates SkyCargo. CargoMART allows customers to access Emirates SkyCargo schedules, tariff rates and contract rates, along with real-time information on available capacity, according to the release. Once the system is fully operational across Emirates SkyCargo’s network, the more than 10,000 freight forwarders on CargoAi’s database will have access to the carrier’s capacity. “By providing real-time pricing and capacity information, we empower our mutual customers with greater choice and convenience, enabling them to make immediate bookings 24/7,” CargoAi Chief Executive Matt Petot said in the release. ADB Safegate upgrades LIM systems Zaventem, Belgium-based technology solutions provider ADB Safegate continues to upgrade operational systems at Jorge Chavez International Airport (LIM) in Lima, Peru, as part of a $1.6 billion airport expansion project that aims to double LIM’s capacity, according to a release from ADB. The airport’s new air traffic control tower and a second runway, which opened in April, are equipped with ADB’s LED airfield ground-lighting solution, and upgrades to the airport’s operational database, integration broker and resource management systems are planned, according to the release. ADB will supply its latest Safedock FleX advanced visual docking guidance systems (A-VDGS) and AiPRON Manager. Safedock FleX uses “intelligent sensors” at the gate to collect and share data that will make apron operations more efficient and safer. The web-based AiPRON Manager monitors the A-VDGS and other connected apron equipment and systems and uses AI to provide stakeholders with real-time data and alerts to potential issues before an aircraft arrives, according to the release. “The new A-VDGS and AiPRON Manager will set the airport up for future advances in intelligent apron management and help deliver better control, safety and efficiency to deliver an even better experience for their airline partners,” ADB Vice President Americas Nick Haines said in the release.
