US-based startup all-cargo operator Western Global Airlines acquired another MD-11F (48545, ex-China Cargo Airlines) on lease from Neff Air.
Western Global received its Air Operator Certificate in August and has now begun flying, operating an MD-11F (48435) for sister company Nordic Global Airline. It also has a third MD-11 freighter (48415) which, like the other two, are leased from Neff Air.
Western Global, like Neff Air, is controlled by industry veteran Jim Neff, who is also a joint-venture partner in Finland-based Nordic Global Airlines. Neff Air says it owns ten MD-11Fs and two 747-400BCFs “directly and without debt.”
