维珍航空与达美航空，掌握了英国与美国之间，跨大西洋航空货运约24％的航空运力。两家航空公司希望通过提供医药的温控及冷链服务，进一步提高业务利润率。 10月2日，两家航空公司合资，于双方在伦敦希思罗机场（LHR）共同经营的货运区域，开设了“医药地带”货运设施。该温控地带的冷链设施包括散货集散区域，六个冷藏室共可以放置多达24个航空物流托盘。该设施配有专用通道以方便快件货运的操作，并设有航空物流集装器的充电装置。 近期，总部位于亚特兰大的达美航空获得国际航协的冷链医药认证，维珍航空则在追求WDA的GDP认证。维珍航空表示，2017年上半年，其冷链医药的货量上涨了20％，冷链医药的关注度正在不断提升。

2015年6月，国际民航组织（ICAO）批评泰国民航局（CAAT）的安全标准，促成了一系列的彻底改革，最终导致了泰国民航局要求所有航空公司重新申请机场运营操作。据此，总共有12家航空公司错过了申请的最后期限（2017年9月12日），其中包括总部位于爱尔兰的ASL航空集团子公司K-Mile航空。此后，泰国总理签署了一项限制该12家航空公司运营国际航班的指令。根据ch-aviation的报道，K-Mile航空迅速反应，并顺利的更新了其运营操作证书，于9月下旬恢复运营。K-Mile航空在亚洲区域航线内，投运了三架波音737-400F，其主要运力均为DHL快递服务。
