More 777 Freighters for AEROLOGIC? When LUFTHANSA CARGO and DHL announced the formation of their all-cargo joint venture AeroLogic, their plan was based on an 11-unit 777F fleet – eight to be acquired immediately, and three more to follow. The eighth unit joined the fleet in November last year, and while there have been no official announcements, rumors are now spreading that the carrier plans to add not three, but nine more 777Fs.
Of these, five would presumably be the five recently firm-ordered by Lufthansa Cargo (which has publicly stated that these freighters could be operated by AeroLogic). Cargo Facts believes the others will come from DHL, either directly or ACMI leased from another carrier (or a combination of both).
