Saudi Airlines Cargo adds Amsterdam (AMS) and Nairobi (NBO) to its to freighter network from December 2010. Three weekly MD-11F flights will operate from Riyadh (RUH) and Jeddah (JED) on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday via Nairobi. The main, Africa-Europe leg is targeted at the fresh flower market. The airline recently hired Peter Scholten, former VP Americas at Martinair, as its VP Commercial working out of Jeddah. It will be interesting to see whether the new Amsterdam service affects the growth of Saudi Cargo’s historical European cargo hub at Brussels (BRU).
