The world’s leading air cargo charter broker, Chapman Freeborn, has launched a number of scheduled air cargo services to further unlock the continent’s potential for its international client base.
Chapman Freeborn’s team in Africa has introduced a new scheduled service from Johannesburg (JNB) to Lubumbashi (FBM) and Kinshasa (FIH) in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
From the 20th June 2013, the dedicated schedule will depart every Thursday from Johannesburg in a DC8-73F aircraft that has a payload of 40 tons. This is the latest scheduled freighter service set up by Chapman Freeborn Africa.
Johannesburg is a major air cargo centre and can accommodate wide body freighters from North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia – making it an ideal hub for transshipment traffic.
The award-winning cargo charter broker has also been operating a Fokker F27 aircraft for over a year; the freighter is being utilised for work including humanitarian relief cargo and transiting equipment involved in mining, telecoms, and the energy industry, as well as other industry sectors in the region. The Fokker F27 freighter can perform a maximum uplift of 5.8 tons.
Furthermore, Chapman Freeborn Africa also provides weekly departures every Tuesday between Johannesburg (JNB) and Entebbe on a McDonnell Douglas MD11; the MD11 freighter can carry up to 85 tons.
Renowned in air cargo charter solutions, Chapman Freeborn has been voted Air Cargo Charter Broker of the Year at the World Air Cargo Awards for the last six consecutive years. Industry publication Air Cargo News also named Chapman Freeborn as its Cargo Charter Broker of the Year consecutively in year 2012 and 2013.
