The amazing flying excavator

This is a serious website, right? Devoted to the airfreight and express industry — to the finance and operation of freighter aircraft and the management of belly capacity. But today is the start of a long weekend holiday, so here’s something to contribute to your weekend enjoyment.

And it is aviation related. Sort of. The excavator that gets off the ground is made by Liebherr-International Deutschland GmbH, and Liebherr does have a fairly big aerospace division, supplying aircraft air management, flight control and actuation systems, hydraulic systems, and landing gear systems.

But aviation related or not, it’s definitely amazing. And the excavator really does get airborne.
