Cargo Facts Consulting expects airfreight traffic, measured in freight tonne kilometers, to return to 2019 levels by the end of 2021.
As part of its newly updated twenty-year freighter forecast, the consultancy expects worldwide airfreight traffic to increase by 12.2% year on year in 2021, and 4.7% year to year in 2022. After that, CFC expects growth rates to be more “normal.”
Despite the positive outlook, a number of uncertainties could alter the growth trajectory of air cargo demand.
