Cargo Facts names new editor

Royal Media is proud to announce that Pilar Wolfsteller has been named editor of Cargo Facts, the publication of record of the air cargo and freighter aircraft industries for more than 40 years.

She started in her new position on Sept. 14, 2026. Former Cargo Facts editor Jeff Lee recently moved to Cargo Facts Consulting as an analyst.

Wolfsteller joins Cargo Facts after most recently serving as senior editor for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association’s Air Safety Institute. She wrote for AOPA’s magazines and developed educational content to support ASI’s mission of improving general aviation safety culture and reducing the fatal crash rate.

She also spent more than five years at U.K.-based aviation trade publication group FlightGlobal as a reporter and editor, covering airlines and air transportation across Europe and North and Latin America.

In 2022, Wolfsteller was named aerospace and aviation reporter of the year at the Aerospace Media Awards in London.

Before that, she worked in strategic corporate communications and corporate social responsibility roles.

Wolfstellar will also be responsible for Cyber Aviation Next, a nascent news initiative at Royal Media focused on the aviation cybersecurity sector.

Wolfsteller began her journalism career at Bloomberg and Reuters in Europe and the Middle East. She received her undergraduate degree from Queen’s University at Kingston (Canada) and a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Outside of work, Wolfsteller is a passionate aviator. She holds an FAA commercial pilot certificate with instrument rating, as well as a flight instructor certification. She also has an EASA private pilot license.
