21 Air to begin US-Mexico cargo ops

After receiving approval from the United States Department of Transportation, North Carolina-based cargo carrier 21 Air plans to begin scheduled cargo operations between the U.S. and Mexico.

The carrier operates two 767 freighters and “looks forward to entering into a long-term ACMI contract with a multi-billion airline group and a global player,” the carrier said in a press release. 21 Air did not provide additional information related to the ACMI customer.

The carrier is now approved for scheduled transport of airfreight between the U.S. and Mexico and “intermediate points in-between” through July 2021 and will be “engaged in the interstate air charter it currently provides on a domestic scale.” The company also said it is in the process of adding more 767 aircraft to its fleet.
