ABC transports its 500th aircraft engine in 2018 [VIDEO]

In only the eighth month of the year, Russia-based AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) has transported its 500th aircraft engine in 2018. The milestone, which has been reached earlier in the year than ever before at ABC, represents a 50 percent, year-over-year, increase in the carrier’s jet-engine transport traffic.

Vasily Zhukov, global director of heavy and outsized cargo for ABC, called the spike in traffic a “quantum leap” forward in the development of its abcXL service, which handles specialty and oversized cargo. “We have strengthened our position in the aerospace segment of the air cargo market,” he added. “We have also introduced the latest 3D modeling software tools to enhance load planning and to minimize the time required for ground handling procedures.”

Cargo moved by the abcXL service is monitored by a team of skilled logistics personnel that are trained in the handling of special cargoes and are responsible for managing the shipment records, the technical condition of the aircraft, the temperature settings, the shock-sensing data and weather forecasting.
