Emirates SkyCargo revenue up 18% for year

Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo arm of Emirates, today reported $4.4 billion in revenue for the 2024-2025 reporting period, which ended March 31. The carrier attributed the 18% year-over-year increase in revenue to surging air cargo demand and increased capacity with an expanded freighter fleet. (Courtesy/Emirates)[/caption] Emirates Group, the parent company of Emirates and ground handler dnata, reported record profit, EBITDA, revenue and cash balance levels for the fiscal year, according to the earnings report: Revenue of $39.6 billion, up 6% YoY; Profit of $6.2 billion, up 18% YoY; EBITDA of $11.5 billion, up 6% YoY; and $14.6 billion in cash assets, up 13% YoY. Fleet plans Emirates operated ten 777Fs and had thirteen more on order as of March 31, according to its earnings presentation. Emirates expects to receive four of those freighters this fiscal year, Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chair and chief executive at Emirates Airline and Group, said in today’s earnings release. One new delivery (68620) arrived in April and another (68619) this month. After removing a leased 777F in April, Emirates’ freighter fleet now includes eleven 777Fs along with six 747-400Fs flying on its behalf on an ACMI basis. In 2024-2025, the carrier took delivery of two new 777Fs (68617 and 68618) and signed an agreement to wet lease two 747-400Fs from Bulgaria-based Compass Cargo Airlines , which “unlocked capacity to serve surging demand for air transport,” Al Maktoum said. Emirates SkyCargo Emirates SkyCargo carried 2.3 million tonnes of cargo, up 7% YoY, and accounted for 13% of its parent airline’s total revenue in the fiscal year. Cargo yield per cargo tonne kilometer increased 10% YoY, returning to pre-pandemic marketplace levels, the report said. During the year, Emirates added Copenhagen (CPH) to its freighter network and signed a memorandum of understanding with Astral Aviation to expand its reach in Africa. Emirates SkyCargo also launched eQuote, a self-service touchpoint that enables customers in seventy-five countries to request and manage spot quotations digitally. Emirates network The carrier grew its network in 2024-2025, both for freighters and belly capacity via its passenger fleet. Emirates: Launched flights to Bogota, Colombia, and Madagascar; Restarted flights to Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Lagos, Nigeria; Adelaide, Australia; and Edinburgh, Scotland; and Added flights to twenty-one other destinations to meet rising demand. The airline serves 148 cities in eighty countries and territories, and has thirty-three codeshare agreements and 118 interline partners, the report said . Emirates and Teleport , the logistics subsidiary of AirAsia parent Capital A, signed a deal in April that includes access to each other’s freighter capacity. “For us, it was a no-brainer,” Teleport Chief Executive Pete Chareonwongsak told Cargo Facts at the World Cargo Symposium in Dubai last month. “I think it’s obvious that Emirates SkyCargo is a global leader in the space. So, for us to be born in Southeast Asia and look to really emulate the hub strategy that they have built so well in Dubai, it’s just natural to try to connect where we are to a more global reach through Emirates.” Dnata performance Dnata reported $5.8 billion in revenue, up 10% YoY. Significant investments during the year included electric and hybrid ground support equipment and new cargo facilities in the United Arab Emirates. “Dnata is on a steady growth path with facility investments coming to fruition in key markets, including the opening of new facilities in Amsterdam [AMS], Dubai [DWC] and Erbil [EBL] next year, which will significantly expand our cargo handling capacity and capabilities,” Al Maktoum said. The ground handler managed 794,091 aircraft turns, up 2% YoY, and handled 3.1 million tonnes of cargo, up 9% YoY.
