Struminger is in charge of FedEx’s air operation and oversees the company’s global fleet modernization and airline technology systems.
FedEx is well into a far-reaching fleet renewal program that has the company adding 777Fs and 767Fs as well as new regional freighters. Just last month, FedEx firmed up orders for twenty more 767Fs and outlined its options with Boeing for up to fifty more 767Fs and twenty-three 777Fs. Last year, FedEx also introduced its first ATR 72-600 production freighter. Deliveries of fifty Cessna 408s are also set to begin over the next twelve months in what is FedEx’s Fiscal Year 2022.
Previously, Struminger was SVP of business operations and express technology.
FedEx Express reported staggering package growth during its most recent earnings release for its fourth quarter fiscal 2021 that ended on May 31, with average daily package volume up 20% YoY to 6.5 million. Revenue during the quarter rose 32% YoY to $11.3 billion, while operating income jumped 118% to $737 million during the same period.
