Shangzhou Logistics to add 737-800BCF

China-based Shangzhou Logistics is set to enter the air cargo space with its own-controlled 737-800BCF. A 2006-vintage 737-800 (35044, ex-Xiamen Airlines) arrived on Aug. 15 at the GAMECO facility in Guangzhou (CAN) ahead of its induction for conversion. It will become Shangzhou’s first freighter, according to a social media post. [caption id="attachment_56865051" align="alignright" width="450"] Unit 35044 will undergo conversion at GAMECO. (Photo/Xiamen Airlines)[/caption] Shangzhou Logistics was formed in October 2021 by C&D Inc., Xiamen Airlines and Zongteng Network. It aims to become an all-inclusive logistics service provider, applying for its own AOC to operate as the new air cargo division of Xiamen Airlines, according to a release. As new Chinese operators of 737-800 freighters continue to emerge, others are growing their fleets. JD Airlines placed its fifth 737-800BCF into service in June after obtaining its AOC from the Civil Aviation Administration of China in August 2022. Shandong Airlines took redelivery of its first 737-800BCF (33660) in the third quarter of 2022 and recently added a second (33661), with another sister unit (33664) expected by the end of the year. Meanwhile, Central Airlines last month began providing ad hoc charter services with a 737-300F to Sunan Ruili Airlines subsidiary Sunan International Cargo Airlines . Central now operates four 737-800BCFs. Tianjin Air Cargo added a fifth 737NG freighter to its fleet in April, when it took delivery of its fourth 737-800BCF (35648, ex-Hainan Airlines).
