CFS 2019: Containerized or bulk for feeders?

SAN DIEGO – Even with a large cargo door that would allow for the loading of unit load devices (ULDs), it might not always make sense for feeder freighters to do so.

David Vanderzwaag, manager of sales and business development, interiors, at Collins Aerospace, told the audience at Cargo Facts Symposium 2019 the challenges he sees when it comes to having containerized (or palletized) freight for feeder aircraft such as Dash-8s and ATRs, taking into account some of the conditions and environments in which they operate.

Collins Aerospace is aiming to redeliver its first converted Q300F with large cargo door configuration early in 2020 to Air Inuit.
