This year's Symposium will feature a fireside chat with Peter Corfitsen, chief executive of Maersk Air Cargo, moderated by Jeff Lee. The team also gives a glimpse into the most highly anticipated panels on the agenda, including one on the large-widebody segment and another on the state of freighter leasing. Andrew Crider I want to begin today with two quick items from Boeing. As many listeners may have seen, three days ago, a 747 dream lifter took off from Taranto, Italy carrying 787 components. This flight was unique however, as this 747 lost one of its main wheels, which fell into the woods below the video the incident went viral on Twitter and created quite the scene, the 747 completed its flight to Charleston safely. Also in news for Boeing was from cargolux, selecting the triple seven dash eight F cargolux has ordered 10 units with an option for six more hopefully taking delivery by 2027. But I'm joined by Jeff Lee and Robert Luke. And we're all very excited for cargo facts symposium next week, isn't that right? Jeff Lee Yes, that is correct. And we are obviously looking forward because this will be the first cargo facts symposium for the two of you. And I mean, this is you were both in Dubai, but this one is slightly different. And you'll see what I mean, but it's been a year since the last CFS, which was in Vegas. And of course, that was the first one, you know, after the COVID hiatus. But in terms of this year, there are a few different elements to this one. And so, because obviously things have many, many things have happened in the past year. And so we'll be exploring some of these themes and developments in San Diego. So we have a number of interesting sessions. And I'm personally very excited about all of them. But in particular, I'll be moderating a fireside chat, one on one discussion with Peter corfitsen, the CEO of maersk air cargo. And this is very, very important, because we've seen a number of shipping companies expanding their footprint in the air freight business. But of course maersk air cargo, previously known as Star air is the only one of these three two have already had their own dedicated retail operations, despite a rebrand of sorts, but in this session, I'll be talking to Peter about, you know, the trend, that we're seeing the rationale for these things, how we're supposed to interpret these moves, and just, you know, get a sense of what these companies are trying to do by moving into more into the freighter market. And, you know, a lot of the industry is, shall we say, skeptical about the prospects for these these shipping companies. So we'll, we'll see what happens and also just delve a bit into Peters background coming from, you know, 30 plus years of experience on the shipping side of things within maersk. But that should be a fun one. And then I'm also going to be moderating, on the second day, probably the most anticipated session or one of them exploring the rivalry between the A350. And the various versions of the triple seven. So the large widebody space looks like it's going to be a very, very competitive segment. And, you know, various conversion programs to three newbuild programs. What is this large, wide body segment going to look like in the years ahead as the triple 747 ends. And more and more airlines have to start thinking about replacing these seven four sevens. And older MD elevens, too. So, you know, we have Airbus, Boeing, mammoth freighters, iai. And, interestingly, one operator, which basically the perfect operator to be on this panel, Silk Way. They, of course currently have seven for seven for hundreds and dash eights, but they are adding both triple sevens and the 350s to their fleet. So that's going to be such a fascinating discussion. And I'm sure everyone's looking forward to that. Yeah, what about you Robert? Robert Luke Well, Jeff, you've definitely got some heavy hitters going on there for the CF 2022 symposium. And it's going to be very exciting to hear the thoughts and the experience, insight and guidance, the actual speakers that you'll be moderating and having a fireside chat with. The newcomer here is going to be coming in with some with some very, very, very heavy hitting panel discussions here. And that's, of course me that I'm referring to. So the first one that I have will be the conversion market overview, which is that's going to be jam packed. Okay, so I've been given a lot of insightful guidance and information and I've had great pre meetings with a variety of the actual panelists that will be joining us from Mike McConnell at C cubed aerospace to Bob convey at AEI and Jens Steinhagen at Boeing, I had a chance to speak with our buddy Charles, who was able to take his call on his behalf. And Andrew Mansell, over at Split Rock aviation, and also Gary Warner, you know, of course, Wolfgang, you're family. So we know you'll be giving your input, you know, you know, the flow and how everything needs to go for the panel. So that's going to be a very, very interesting one, not just because of the panelists that are going to be on the actual panel, but because, as you said earlier, Jeff, the market, where are we going? What is the outlook versus the general consensus versus the experienced intel that hopefully we can pull out of some of these panelists when we have that discussion? And plus, you know, we're talking about some serious major rivalries here in this in this panel discussion. It's like Ford versus Chevy. So I expect to see some heavy hitting, but I'll do my best to keep the waters as calm as possible. Andrew Crider Now, you talk of rivalries and I gotta interrupt you. Sure. All right. Because to mention, didn't we have news from a triple seven converter? Earlier this week, Robert? Robert Luke Well, thank you for reminding me Drew, we certainly did. We had a major announcement with avia Am a very well established European lessor that agreed to have six conversions with mammoth freighters with their triple seven 300 ers, with the first one being an ex Nordwind aircraft that is a unit 35299 A 2007 Vintage. So we're starting to see the momentum pickup with all the various different triple seven STC holder programs as they're all getting their various client interests that are confirmed conversion orders being secured and put in place. So again, you know, that's another reason why this conversion market overview is going to be like hot grease waiting for that chicken in the flour batter to just hit it so you can hear that sizzle. You know what I mean? Just wow, let's get going. The next session that I'm definitely going to be looking forward to is the state of freighter of the state of freighter, excuse me aircraft leasing. And we've got some, again, some very, very strong positioned lessors that are going to be on this panel discussion. But the good thing about this window is they're relatively in their own lanes for the most part. So there's not a lot of a lot of interaction or crossing into lane so to speak, as far as competitive edge is concerned. But you know, Stephen, remember from altavair, that's going to be a great, great person on the panel discussion, very open loves to have these kinds of panels to discuss not only what they're doing but what the market is doing.
