JLPS Ireland nears redelivery of first A321P2F

JLPS Ireland, affiliate of Japan-based JP Lease, will soon diversify its narrowbody freighter portfolio as its first A321P2F conversion nears completion. The lessor still expects to take redelivery of the 2000-vintage unit 1207 (ex-Windrose Airlines) by yearend and confirmed to Cargo Facts that it has now sent its second A321 (974, ex-Onur Air) for conversion. That aircraft arrived in Guangzhou (CAN) on Oct. 28 ahead of its induction. [caption id="attachment_56860748" align="alignright" width="450"] JLPS Ireland will convert at least five A321s. (Photo/EFW)[/caption] JLPS also told Cargo Facts that it has come to terms with a customer that will lease both units. Cargo Facts reported in August that unit 1207 would be the first of at least five A321P2F conversions JLPS Ireland would order from Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW). Unit 1207 left storage in Chateauroux (CHR), France, in late May and was ferried to the ST Aerospace (Guangzhou) Aviation Services facility at CAN for conversion. Although the first two aircraft are equipped with IAE V2500-A5 engines, JLPS will build a fleet mix that will consist of both IAE- and CFM-powered A321 freighters. Vallair, launch customer of the EFW A321P2F conversion program with its launch operator Qantas, previously owned both units 1207 and 974. Apart from JLPS Ireland, two other lessors have taken their first A321 freighters so far this year: Castlelake leased its first A321-200P2F to IndiGo and Cross Ocean Partners placed two A321-200PCFs with SmartLynx . Meanwhile, Global Crossing Airlines recently said it expects to take Greenwich Highland Aviation’s first A321-200PCF by yearend .
