Qatar Airways currently operates twenty-one 777Fs in its freighter fleet.

Qatar Airways took delivery of a 777F (66339) from Boeing [FAT 005240]. It is the sixth 777F the carrier has added to its fleet in 2019, and increases the number of 777Fs currently operating in the QR Cargo fleet to twenty-one.

Shortly after being delivered to Qatar’s Doha (DOH) hub, the aircraft was placed into revenue service on a maiden flight to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN).

While Qatar is expecting no further 777F deliveries in 2019, the carrier has five of the type due to arrive in 2020. As Qatar’s 777F grows, Cargo Facts expects A330-200F retirements to follow. Shortly before the carrier returned three leased A330-200Fs to BOC Aviation last year, Guillaume Halleux told Cargo Facts the airline was considering removal of the remaining five A330-200Fs in its fleet.

For now, all five of Qatar Airways’ A330-200Fs continue operating to around 30 regional destinations in Africa, Asia and Europe.

Qatar’s freighter fleet now stands at two 747-8Fs, twenty-one 777Fs and five A330-200Fs.
