Ethiopian Airlines CEO Tewolde GebreMariam to Deliver Keynote at 2013 Cargo Facts Aircraft Symposium

Cargo Facts is pleased to announce that Mr. Tewolde GebreMariam, CEO, Ethiopian Airlines, will deliver the Keynote Address at the 19th Annual Cargo Facts Aircraft Symposium.

Mr. GebreMariam will present at 9 a.m. PT on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Grand Hyatt Seattle.

“We are thrilled and honored that Tewolde will deliver the 2013 Keynote Address at the Symposium,” said JJ Hornblass, Chairman, Cargo Facts Symposium. “In his role as CEO at the fastest growing airline in Africa, Tewolde has a unique perspective on the future course of the industry. We look forward to his discussion at the event.”

Mr. GebreMariam began his career at Ethiopian Airlines in 1985. He served in different capacities in the cargo traffic handling department and progressed through the ladder to Manager Cargo Traffic Handling. He was appointed as Regional Director for India and South East Asia base in Bombay and later on transferred to Jeddah as Area Manager for Saudi Arabia. When Ethiopian Airlines commenced direct services to the USA, he was appointed as Area Sales Manager for North East USA and Canada based in New York.


On August 16, 2004, Mr. GebreMariam was appointed as Executive Officer Marketing and Sales to head the Marketing and Sales Operations of Ethiopian Airlines. On July 1, 2006, he was appointed as Chief Operating Officer to head all the operating divisions of the airline namely Commercial, Flight Operations, Customer Services and Maintenance and Engineering. For the last four years he has steered the operations of the airline towards an unprecedented and profitable growth.


Mr. GebreMariam’s Keynote will present his vision for the future of the aviation sector.
