Market analysis firm Ken Research published a 100-page outlook report this week on the state of the Polish freight forwarding sector, suggesting that the country will experience strong growth between now and 2022. According to the report, freight forwarding is the largest revenue contributor in Poland’s logistics industry.
According to the report, Poland’s major trading partners include China, South Korea, Japan and India, which export machinery, electronics, textiles, processed food, chemicals and motor vehicles to Europe. However, the majority of trade flow is with its European neighbors, making land transportation the most commonly used transportation mode in the region.
Like many regional economies around the world, Poland’s is benefiting from an elevated demand for imported, fresh food and the growing popularity of e-commerce, but the free-trade agreement between Poland and the European Union – which Poland entered in 2004 – is a significant factor.
Poland is also now the 27th “easiest country to do business with” out of 190 ranked by the World Bank, “ease” here referring to government regulations on international trade. (China is ranked 78th and the United States is 6th.)
