Amerijet and Cargojet have launched freighter operations into Simon Bolivar International Airport in Caracas, Venezuela.
Amerijet’s 1994-vintage 767-300BDSF (27449) landed in Caracas (CCS) on April 19 after departing Miami International Airport (MIA), the first time the carrier had been back at CCS since 2019, it said in a LinkedIn post. The freighter then returned to MIA.

The April 19 flight was the first of a yearlong agreement, Amerijet Chief Executive Joe Mozzali told Cargo Facts. While the initial flight carried primarily e-commerce and personal goods, Amerijet anticipates freight of all kinds, including oil and gas equipment, to move along the route as the country reopens, Mozzali said.
Amerijet operates at both CCS and Arturo Michelena International Airport (VLN) in Valencia for a total of three to four weekly flights in Venezuela, according to Mozzali. The carrier plans to continue expanding its operations to other points in the country, he said.
Amerijet, which late last year made its first fleet addition since 2023, operates eleven converted 767-300 freighters.
Meanwhile, Cargojet’s 1995-vintage 767-300BDSF (26263) arrived at CCS from MIA and Santo Domingo’s Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) on April 11. This was the carrier’s first time touching down at CCS, it said in a LinkedIn post. Unit 26263 then returned to SDQ and MIA.
The new flight operates on Mondays and Saturdays.
Cargojet operates twenty-three 767-300 freighters. It obtained its most recent acquisition in March.
The new routes follow LATAM Cargo’s resumption of dedicated freighter flights into Venezuela after the Jan. 3 raid and arrest of former President Nicolas Maduro by the United States.
Cargo Facts EMEA 2026 will take place April 28-30 in Brussels at the Marriott Hotel Grand Place. For more information and to register, visit CargoFactsEvents.com.
