Wiremind Cargo to apply AI models for dynamic pricing, overbooking forecast

Wiremind Cargo, the airfreight business unit of France-based revenue optimization company Wiremind, plans to develop a cargo management platform that applies artificial intelligence (AI) models for dynamic pricing, revenue optimization and overbooking forecasts. Although Wiremind Cargo launched in November 2021 as a spinoff subsidiary of Wiremind, the team has only been fully operational since early 2022, CEO Nathanael de Tarade told Air Cargo World . [caption id="attachment_69621" align="alignright" width="413"] Photo courtesy of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings.[/caption] “The new business entity allows [us] to have a dedicated focus on the air cargo sector, with an expanded team, new resources and new products,” he said. The new cargo management platform will include a modern user experience and optimization services in addition to the AI-based modules, de Tarade said. Wiremind’s core product, Skypallet is a unit load device (ULD) and flight optimization system that is one of the services to be integrated into the optimization system to provide an end-to-end management process. Skypallet is now completely managed by Wiremind Cargo. De Tarade said the platform will be developed in collaboration with industry partners; the Cargo Digital Factory team of information technology (IT) experts from French general sales and service agent (GSSA) ECS Group will help collaborate on products and digital strategy, de Tarade said. This is not the first time the two companies have teamed up. In January ECS Cargo Digital Factory and Wiremind Cargo formed independent digitalization-focused company CargoTech. CargoTech aims to leverage data to provide digital solutions to streamline processes and will soon launch a pricing recommendation engine. Wiremind Cargo’s cargo management platform aims to streamline industry operations from cargo sales and reservation agents, flight controllers and more, according to a recent release. Current clients include Emirates SkyCargo, Atlas Air, United Airlines and Chapman Freeborn, among others. Wiremind Cargo also recently signed contracts with a general sales agent (GSA) and two freight forwarders, de Tarade added.
