2025 starts with dip in freighter aircraft transactions

The number of monthly freighter aircraft transactions that Cargo Facts recorded dipped to forty-one in January, eleven fewer than the previous month and three lower than January 2024. Starlux Airlines started the year with a splash, announcing that it had firmed up options for five more A350Fs from Airbus. The additional order doubles the new freighter operator’s commitment to the type as it prepares to enter the freighter market. Another new Airbus freighter operator also emerged. Hungary Airlines received certification to fly the Hungarian government’s 2014-vintage production A330-200F on its behalf, the first of multiple widebody freighters the new carrier intends to add in 2025. In China, JD Airlines grew its all-737NG fleet to ten 737-800BCFs with the delivery of a 2006-vintage unit as part of an expanded lease deal with AerCap. Japan Airlines took redelivery of a 767-300BCF (37548) after conversion with Boeing in Singapore (QPG) [FAT 10280]. Amazon transferred a 767-300BDSF (27310, ex-Nordwind Airlines) from Atlas Air to 21 Air for CMI operation [FATs 10290-10291] Air China Cargo took redelivery of an A330-200P2F (884) after conversion with EFW in Chengdu (CTU) [FATs 10292-10293]. The Hungarian government placed an A330-200F (1578, ex-Qatar Airways) with Hungary Airlines for operation [FAT 10268] AerSale acquired a 757-200PCF (29311, ex-Amerijet) from Nehalem 29311 LLC [FATs 10270-10272]. My Freighter placed a lease order for a 757-200PCF (32386, ex-Amerijet) from Titan Aircraft Investments [FAT 10299]. Sichuan Airlines took delivery of an A321-200PCF (3005, ex-Vietnam Airlines) on lease from Sichuan Aviation Industry Development after conversion with 321 Precision Conversions at CTU [FATs 10273-10274]. JD Airlines took delivery of a 737-800BCF (30709, ex-China Southern Airlines) on lease from AerCap after conversion in Jinan (TNA) [FATs 10260-10262]. Amazon transferred a 737-800BCF (32608, ex-China Xinhua Airlines) from Atlas Air to Sun Country Airlines for CMI operation [FATs 10288-10289]. ASL Aviation Holdings took delivery of a 737-800BCF (30879, ex-TUIfly) on lease from Icelease [FATs 10297-10298]. Northern Air Cargo took delivery of a 737-400SF (25859, ex-West Atlantic) on lease from Automatic [FATs 10294-10295]. MJets Air acquired a 737-400F (26605) from JLPS [FAT 10300]. Eastern Air Holdings acquired a 737-300F (23538) from iAero Airways [FAT 10269]. Air Bravo took delivery of a Cessna 408 SkyCourier (408-0028) from Textron Aviation [FATs 10278-10279].
