Certification recognizes cybersecurity, IT infrastructure at Hactl

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited has become the first cargo terminal operator in Hong Kong to secure ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for its COSAC-Plus cargo management system and supporting information technology environment. The certification covers IT infrastructure, daily operations, system development processes and cybersecurity controls used by Hactl, according to a release today. [caption id="attachment_57150570" align="aligncenter" width="1920"] (Courtesy/Hactl)[/caption] ISO/IEC 27001 is an international standard for information security management, focused on protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data. Hactl began work toward the certification in 2024. For customers, the certification signals that COSAC-Plus and related systems meet global cybersecurity benchmarks and that cargo and business data are handled securely. This helps airlines, forwarders and other users meet their own compliance and data protection obligations. Maintaining standards The standard requires continual improvement through regular reviews, audits and updates to security controls. Retaining certification will require ongoing internal and external audits, continuous monitoring and staff training to keep pace with evolving cyberthreats . “Cyberthreats are increasingly sophisticated and ever-present for modern organizations,” John Lee, Hactl’s executive director of information services, said in the release.
